Sonam Kapoor and
Mahira Khan share a close bond, which was evident at
Cannes
where the two beauties walked the red carpet as brand ambassadors of a beauty brand. Mahira in her latest exclusive interview with a Pakistani publication, recalled her Cannes experience and spoke fondly of Sonam. The actress revealed how it was Sonam, who comforted and motivated her on the red carpet.
She told the Pakistani publication that she heard the photographers calling out Jane Fonda’s name on the red carpet and she knew that she was after Jane Fonda and before Sonam (Kapoor), who was right behind her. Mahira anxiously wondered what would happen next and if the photographers would even call out her name. That’s when she turned around, looked at Sonam and asked, ‘what do I do?’ “I just looked at her nervously and she said, ‘Smile baby, you got this’. And that was it. I truly believe that if she hadn’t been this kind to me at that exact moment, my morale would have fallen.”
Mahira also spoke about meeting Jane Fonda and how she said that her entire life people told her she’s beautiful but it was in her 60s that she actually believed it.
