Mahesh Bhatt slams CBFC for not clearing 'No Fathers in Kashmir' on time

After being banned for almost 8 months by the Censor Board for promoting hatred, nudity and violence, the film will finally see the light of the day as it will hit the theatres on April 5, 2019. It all started in July 2018 when the makers of the film and the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) were at loggerheads when the latter passed the film with an 'A' certificate. As a result, the makers had expressed a sense of disapproval with the apex body and challenged their decision and approached the FCAT in November.

And today, at the trailer launch of the film, when Mahesh Bhatt was asked about the censorship woes that the film had to go through, the filmmaker said that it’s a tragedy that a filmmaker who puts his film together, has to run from pillar to post to beg people to get it through. The veteran director even questioned the need for any kind of censorship in this age and time. Mahesh added, "I have the audacity to look at the truth, the greatest epic which mankind has been blessed with, the

came from the

battle

of Kurukshetra, in that moment of darkness, he who locks the eyes with the darkness discovers a life which Aswin has discovered.”

'No Fathers In Kashmir' is a tale of two teenagers in love as they try to uncover the secret behind the lost fathers of Kashmir. “Everybody thinks they know Kashmir” is the tagline of the film on the poster and the film is based in the Valley. Few months back, when the film was undergoing all the censorship woes, Alia Bhatt had tweeted in favour of the film as she wrote, “Was soo looking forward to mom's @nofathers_movie #nofathersinkashmir!! @Soni_Razdan @ashvinkumar & team worked super hard for this honest teens love story in Kashmir. Really hope the CBFC would #lifttheban. It’s a film about empathy & compassion..let’s give love a chance.”
