Madhya Pradesh governor expresses grief over death of Rajesh Khanna

BHOPAL: The governor of Madhya Pradesh Ram Naresh Yadav has expressed profound grief over the death of first ‘superstar’ of Hindi film industry Rajesh Khanna. In his condolence message, the Governor said an era of Hindi films has ended with his death.
Yadav said that Rajesh Khanna had played memorable roles in successful films like Aradhna, Kati Patang, Do Raste, Anand, Amar Prem, Hathi Mere Sathi, Sachcha Jhoota, Aan Milo Sajna, Apki Qasam, Prem Nagar, Roti, Dushman, Bawarchi, Daag, Andaz, Amardeep, Thodi Si Bewafai, Sautan and Avtar.The popularity of Rajesh Khanna among the masses is unprecedented in the history of Hindi films.
The governor said Rajesh Khanna had become a ‘superstar’ by giving successful film consecutively for 15 years. His films had melodious music and are still popular among the young generation. Yadav said the veteran actor who left for heavenly abode had carved out a distinct identity in people’s hearts. The governor also extended condolence to the bereaved family of the actor.
