Dubbed as the king of fruits in India, the mangoes are ruling the fruit markets once again. Well, it’s their season after all and that time of the year when people suck on to the guthlis, enjoy the slice or simply pulp them up into yummy aamras. As the mango mania grips India, this Bollywood celebrity too is riding the wave.
Madhuri Dixit Nene who hails from Konkan has some fond memories of having the renowned Alphonso mangoes while growing up. She’s still obsessed with the fruit! Talking about her love for mangoes, Madhuri tells us, “I love mangoes… like literally any kind of mangoes. You bring any variant (Alphonso, Totapuri, Pairi, Kesar, Badami etc) in front of me and I will eat it.”
The actress who was last seen in the web show The Fame Game also loves to indulge in various dishes that has mango as its core ingredient or as something that introduces a twist to the dish. She shares, “I will eat anything if it has mango in it. But my most favourite recipe made out of mangoes is the mango pie. I just love it.”
Her love for the fruit is also evident on her social media posts. Back in 2022, at the time when the mango season had almost passed by, a tad bit sad Madhuri took to Insta and posted a picture where she’s hugging dozens of mangoes in a basket. The caption read, “Can’t believe mango season is nearly done. Agle saal ka intezar rahega.”
