‘Madhur is ‘total comedy’ on the sets’

What is your role in Madhur Bhandarkar���s latest film? How much do you relate to your character?
I am playing the character of a super model. Her name is Shonali Gujral who is spoilt by the fashion industry. She doesn���t have to struggle for stardom and gets everything on a platter. But I don���t relate to my characters in real life. That harms a person in real life.
Is it true that you objected to Priyanka Chopra getting more spotlight in the film���s promos?
These are rumours.I was in the US shooting all this while and on return, I can say that I am happy with the publicity of the film. Priyanka and I are good friends, and I am really fond of her. In fact, she is one of the best women I���ve come to know in the industry. She makes an effort to be friendly and gives out very positive vibes.
Do you think in the fashion world one really has to compromise on one���s morals and character?
I don���t think so. It depends from person to person and how they wish to deal with stardom. The industry has its share of very young models who���ve started their career the age of 18, so it���s easy for a few to lose their way too.
How was it working with Madhur?
Madhur is a very chilled out guy and ���total comedy��� on the sets. He is a fabulous director with a great vision. He is the real hero of our film.
You turned down Bhatt camp���s Dhoka and Jannat. Why? Are you out of the Bhatt camp?
I am doing Raaz 2 with them, so there���s no question of my moving out of the Bhatt camp.
Who is your style icon and what is your best kept fashion secret ?
I don���t have any specific style icon. International fashion attracts me the most. My best kept fashion secret is keeping a healthy mind. I think if you are in the right state of mind, you combine your style, expressions and reactions in the right manner. And then whatever you wear, people compliment your style, even if it���s a tee and jeans.
Why have you refrained from speaking to the media?
I like keeping to myself. I don���t exchange numbers. When I am with family and friends, I dedicate all my time to them. And when I am working, I keep myself involved in work.
