Madhur Bhandarkar pays visit to Mumbai's Siddhivinayak temple

National Award-winning director Madhur Bhandarkar recently paid a visit to Mumbai's Siddhivinayak Temple to seek Lord Ganesha's blessings. After the visit, he took to X to share his experience. In his post, he shared a glimpse of his visit and wrote, “Today Siddhivinayak temple Darshan. Ganpati Bappa Moriya.”

Bhandarkar's post included two pictures: one of the Lord Ganesha idol at the temple and another of the director himself. In the second image, he was seen smiling brightly while dressed in a lavender T-shirt.

Madhur Bhandarkar started his career in 1999 and has made a mark with films like 'Fashion' and 'Page 3'. Despite his debut film 'Trishakti' crashing at the box office, he gained recognition with 'Chandni Bar', which won National Awards for both him and Tabu.


In an interview with Hindustan Times, Madhur Bhandarkar discussed how 'Chandni Bar' shifted industry dynamics. He pointed out that it was the first female-led film to succeed both in multiplexes and single screens, a time when big-budget, male-centric movies dominated. 'Chandni Bar' was even nominated alongside major films like 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham', 'Gadar', and 'Dil Chahta Hai', making a significant impact and altering cinematic conventions.

Madhur's most recent Hindi film was 'Babli Bouncer', featuring Tamannaah Bhatia. Released on Disney Plus Hotstar, the romantic comedy delved into the world of female bouncers. Despite its unique premise and a supporting cast that included Saurabh Shukla, Abhishek Bajaj, and Sahil Vaid, however, the film did not receive a favorable response from audiences.
