LUDHIANA: A member of the Sutlej Club here allegedly misbehaved with Bollywood singer Alka Yagnik when she was in the city for a performance.
During her visit to Sutlej Club on October 10, an office-bearer of the club is said to have misbehaved with her under the influence of alcohol before the performance.

The office-bearer misbehaved with the singer in her greenroom before the performance. He reportedly forced her to pose for a picture with him and when she refused, he misbehaved. DC Rajat Agarwal asked club general secretary Rohit Dutta to serve a show cause notice on the accused.
Dutta said, "A show cause notice has been served on the accused office-bearer and he has replied to it. The reply has been sent to club president Rajat Agarwal."
According to other club members, the controversy could have something to do with club elections to be held in March, 2016.
Bar secretary Rakesh Kapoor said, "This is my second term in the club. Being a bar secretary, I am well aware that the person being targeted does not drink. However, the complaint says he misbehaved with the celebrity under the influence of alcohol."

Hinting at a frame up, he said, "The accused recently announced he would contest elections for the post of general secretary. It cannot be denied that he has been dragged into a controversy."
Another office bearer of the club, requesting anonymity said, "All this politics is due to the elections. Why did she not raise an alarm at that moment? The complaint was sent almost a week after the incident. So far, there is no confirmation that the complaint was actually sent by the manager of the celebrity or not."
The accused office-bearer has refused to issue a statement. DC and club president Rajat Agarwal said, "I got a mail from a person who claimed to be manager of singer Alka Yagnik. The complaint says an office- bearer misbehaved with her and she was very upset. After the complaint, we issued a show cause notice. Suitable action will be taken if we find any truth in the allegations."
