‘Love And War’ star Vicky Kaushal calls Sanjay Leela Bhansali ‘a magician, a master’; says it’s like ‘film school’

Vicky Kaushal, who stars alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much-anticipated film 'Love And War', recently opened up about his experience working with the acclaimed filmmaker. Vicky Kaushal on Sanjay Leela Bhansali Speaking at the Yuvaa Conclave, the actor called Bhansali “a magician” and “a master,” adding that the process feels like “going back to film school.”

Vicky Kaushal said that he can't tell much about how much he is getting to learn from Sanjay Leela Bhansali and watching him directing a constructing a scene felt like 'Going back to film school', for the 'Dunki' actor.

“He is truly a magician, a master; when you get to work with him, you realise how and why,” said Vicky.

The ‘Raazi’ actor further elaborated on how Sanjay Leela Bhansali pushes his actors to discover deeper nuances within their performances.

Kaushal said that it’s not just about the frames SLB sets or the canvas he builds on and it's about how the ace director gets into a scene. "It's about how he pulls out performances that you realise there’s so much more scope as an actor to keep finding details in that scene and that writing,” Vicky explained. He added, “Right now, that’s such a big learning curve for me, being a part of Love And War.”

Vicky Kaushal on impending fatherhood

Meanwhile, Vicky Kaushal also opened up on his personal life and the upcoming chapter of fatherhood. A video from the same conversation surfaced on Reddit, where he expressed his happiness about welcoming a baby with wife Katrina Kaif.

When asked what he’s most looking forward to, Vicky smiled and said, “Just being a dad.” He added, “I am really looking forward to it… I think it is a huge blessing… Exciting times, almost there, so fingers crossed.”
