Athiya's Insta account is quite interesting for various reasons. In fact, recently she was in the news for a picture of hers with KL Rahul, which went viral. It instantly fuelled gossip of her rumoured romance with the cricketer. Athiya's father, Suniel Shetty also reacted to his daughter's picture, showing her in an old-fashioned phone booth with the cricketer. He posted a series of laughing emojis, fuelling the rumours even further.

Reports of the two dating took off when fashion designer Vikram Phadnis teased Athiya when she put up a motivational message on Instagram that read : ‘Trust the timing of your life'. She wrote, "You seem to be v hyper and excited these days ??? Let’s go to KL ??? ..... Kuala Lumpur ????” Athiya replied: “@vikramphadnis TIME to block you!”
