Following Sidhu Moosewala’s death in 2022, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang intensified its activities, targeting high-profile celebrities like Salman Khan, Gippy Grewal, and AP Dhillon. In 2024, Dhillon’s Canada residence was attacked in a shooting incident, though he remained unharmed. In BBC’s recent documentary The Killing Call, journalist Ishleen Kaur questioned gang member Goldy Brar about the motive behind the attack.
In the documentary, Goldy Brar claimed that Sidhu Moosewala was killed as revenge for the murder of Vicky Middukhera, alleging Sidhu had conspired with a rival gang. Journalist Ishleen Kaur noted that Moosewala’s death significantly boosted the Bishnoi gang’s infamy—turning Sidhu’s fame into their own notoriety, which they later used to fuel extortion operations.
When asked about the money the gang made after Sidhu Moosewala’s murder, Goldy Brar claimed it wasn’t just about profit, stating they could have targeted anyone if that were the case. On why AP Dhillon’s house was attacked, he admitted it was meant to instill fear, making extortion easier. “To feed a family of four, a man struggles all his life. We have to take care of hundreds, maybe thousands, who are like family. To get money, we have to be feared,” he said, implying that fear is the gang’s primary tool for survival and dominance.
The shooting took place in September 2024 outside AP Dhillon’s home in Vancouver, Canada, where two vehicles were also set on fire. In November, 25-year-old Abjeet Kingra was arrested in connection with the incident, while the second shooter remains at large.
