Bengali babe Shraddha Das isn’t among the newbies who take pleasure in being termed as a glamour babe. Instead she prefers being called an ‘actress’. The leggy lass who would be seen debuting in Warner Bros and Sai Om Films’ Lahore says, “I want to carve a niche in the industry and I feel blessed to have gotten a film like Lahore as my debut. It couldn’t get any better.”
But doesn’t she feel that Lahore, being a film based on kickboxing, will prove to be more male centric? “I am not a sidekick in the film.
There are certain films from which if you remove the actress it doesn’t make a difference. But in Lahore, my role links many crucial things and is thus consequential.”
Talking about her tryst with glitterati, Shraddha says, “Working in Lahore wasn’t a cakewalk. One can’t say it was all work no play. We did have a great time, but our director
Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan is a disciplined man and didn’t allow us to stray. We did a lot of theatre workshops to get our acts right.” So how is she dealing with life post Lahore? “This film has proven to be a lucky factor in my life. Post signing the film, I received many offers down South and have now completed eight films there and am also looking forward to a great Bollywood career ahead!”
