Years after her stint as a British officer’s sister, Rachel has returned to feature in another Indian production venture. She essays one of the the leads in upcoming series ‘Kohrra’, co-starring Barun Sobti, Suvinder Vicky, Varun Badola and Harleen Sethi. This investigative drama is centered around the probe of an NRI, who dies right before his wedding. Speaking about including Rachel in the show, creator Sudip Sharma told Indianexpress that Rachel’s casting was all about ‘practicality’ because they didn’t want to hire a ‘white actor working in Mumbai’. He added that one of the reasons to cast Rachel was because she had done Lagaan and knew the 'madness' of working here. Praising her work in the west, Sharma added that Rachel is a great actor and casting her fit almost like a jigsaw puzzle.

Written and directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, 'Lagaan' featured Gracy Singh as the leading lady. The film was made on a huge budget and was a massive success upon it's release in 2001. 'Lagaan' was India's official entry to the 2002 Oscars and bagged a nomination in the best foreign language film category too but failed to win the trophy.
