'Lagaan' actor Paul Blackthorne out due to shooting schedule

Actor Paul Blackthorne, who played the British Captain Russell in 'Lagaan', was to visit Delhi this weekend as the special international guest at Delhi Comic Con. However, due to last minute changes in his shooting schedule, the actor has had to cancel his visit.


In a video message put up by the organizers of the comic con on their Facebook page, Blackthorne, speaking from the sets of the TV show '

', says, "Delhi, Delhi, Delhi! I'm so sorry that I cannot be with you for the convention this weekend because I'm busy here doing all this Arrow-y kind of stuff and spending time with people like him (points to co-star David Ramsey)." Ramsey joins in and adds, "Blackthorne is sorry he cannot make it to Delhi this weekend. He promises to be with you next time!" Paul ends the message, saying, "Another time, apologies. Love you, guys!" The organizers have posted on Facebook that fans who'd booked tickets for the meet-and-greet with the actor will have the amounts refunded. They have also said it would be impossible to find a replacement guest at such short notice.
