‘Laapataa Ladies’ star Nitanshi Goel wishes to recreate THIS iconic moment from Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone’s film ‘Om Shanti Om’

Nitanshi Goel, the breakout star of the critically acclaimed film ‘Laapataa Ladies,’ has expressed her admiration for Deepika Padukone and her desire to recreate an iconic moment from the blockbuster movie ‘Om Shanti Om.’
The young actress, who has received widespread praise for her performance as Phool in the comedy-drama, revealed her wish to have a chance encounter with Padukone that mirrors the famous scene where Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika's characters meet for the first time.

As a self-proclaimed fan of Deepika Padukone, Goel expressed her desire for a meeting with the actress that would echo the memorable moment from ‘Om Shanti Om,’ "I really wish that someday, either my dupatta gets stuck in her watch or hers in mine," Goel said in a recent interview with the Bombay Times.

In the film ‘Om Shanti Om,’ this iconic moment occurs during the song ‘Aankhon Mein Teri Ajab Si,’ where Shah Rukh Khan's character, Om, first encounters Deepika Padukone's character, Shanti. As they share a romantic moment, Shanti's pink dupatta becomes entangled in Om's thread, symbolizing their fateful connection.

In the same conversation, Nitanshi Goel also shared her inspiration drawn from legendary actresses Sridevi and Madhubala, stating her ambition to make a lasting impact in the film industry through her work.
‘Laapataa Ladies,’ directed by Kiran Rao, has been widely praised for its engaging storyline, sharp humor, and exceptional performances. The film, which revolves around two young brides who are accidentally swapped on a train, features a talented ensemble cast that includes Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Shrivastava, Chhaya Kadam, and Ravi Kishan.

The movie was screened at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in 2023, where it received a standing ovation from the audience. ‘Laapataa Ladies’ had its theatrical release on March 1, 2024.
