Being comfortable in what you wear is actor Kunal Kapoor’s style mantraMy style quotientFor me being stylish is being comfortable in your own skin. I know this may be the most cliché statement, but the reason it’s repeated so often shows how true it is. When you are aware and clear of who you are, you carry yourself and the clothes you sport with a certain ease and élan.
I’m comfortable in most things. From formal wear to casual, and from traditional Indian wear to suits. And if I had my way I’d perennially be in boxers, but otherwise its linen pants and a ganji.
My coloursMen are always expected to stick to the blacks, greys and browns. But I’m all for bright colours — the reds, the pinks, and the blues. My wardrobe is full of colourful clothes. I tend to be partial towards electric blues though. I believe that colours help express your mood and your personality. I also love whites, especially in the summers. I have a whole collection of white linen pants and shirts. Black is usually what I call my formal colour — that’s the colour I wear to award functions, sit down dinners. But I try and add a hint of colour there too.
My must have accessoriesUndoubtedly belts and shoes! I love shoes, right from sandals to boots. Shoes can have a huge impact on how you feel — while a pair of leather sandals can make you feel relaxed, sports shoes make you feel ready for some action. It’s actually the accessories that make the clothes. A little trinket can make a whole lot of difference. I like to keep it classic and simple, at least with accessories.
My party wear I am a lover of suits. I have a huge collection of suits for a night out. For something less casual, I like wearing linen jackets with a nice shirt and a well fitted pair of jeans.
My little experimentsI keep putting random stuff together, from different fabrics to different accessories. Sometimes it looks great, sometimes pretty absurd!
