K. T. Rama Rao, a member of the Telangana Legislative Assembly, expressed his views on the recent detention of Tollywood actor Allu Arjun, who is known for his role in 'Pushpa'. This arrest stems from a tragic stampede incident during the crowded screening of 'Pushpa 2', which resulted in the death of a woman and injuries to her son. Rao emphasised the need for better crowd management and safety protocols at such events to prevent similar tragedies in the future.

On December 13, 2024, Chikkadapally police arrested Allu after a woman died during the premiere of his film 'Pushpa 2: The Rise'. The stampede in the theatre also injured a boy. Authorities have detained three other people connected to the incident.

During the premiere of 'Pushpa 2: The Rule' in Hyderabad, a woman tragically passed away and her son was hospitalized due to suffocation after a stampede occurred in the crowded cinema. The incident took place at Sandhya Theatre when a large crowd of fans surged forward to catch a glimpse of the actor.

In his post on X (formerly known as Twitter) post, K. T. Rama Rao has posted his view on the issue, "Arrest of National Award winning star Allu Arjun is the pinnacle of insecurity of the rulers! I totally sympathize with the victims of the stampede but who failed really? Treating Allu Arjun Garu as a common criminal is uncalled for especially for something he isn’t directly responsible. There is always space for respect & dignified conduct. I strongly condemn the high handed behaviour of Govt Going by the same perverse logic, Revanth Reddy should be arrested for causing the death of two innocent people who died in Hyderabad because of the fear psychosis caused by Hydra"

Rama Rao expressed his condolences to the victim's family after the stampede during the 'Pushpa 2: The Rise' premiere. However, he criticised the arrest of Allu, a national award-winning actor, saying it was unfair. He argued that the blame should be on the theatre for poor security, not on the actor, and called the government's actions excessive. Rao emphasised that Allu should not be treated like a common criminal for something he did not directly cause.
