Actress ready to toe her mother Aparna Sen as she wants to try her hand at direction.
Konkona Sen Sharma is ready to follow in her mother Aparna Sen’s footsteps. Koko is ready to don the director’s hat and her’s will be an acting-oriented movie, not a masala song-and-dance film.
Konkona is in touch regarding this with a couple of top head honchos of the industry. She is looking foward to the transition soon and has extensive plans in place.

Though an independent venture, she will tie up with a big production house to roll out the project.
Today, every big production house is making small budget films to support quality movies that tour film festivals and are average grossers with great critical acclaim. “Since Konkona has a good equation with many heavyweights, someone will definitely fund her venture because they would trust her seeing her body of work,” says a trade source.
When contacted Konkona, who’s pregnant right now, confirms, "I definitely want to work on my big direction plan. I do feel that direction is the next step for me and it is something that really excites me. I have to sit down and plan how I want to go about it. Right now I'm not doing anything and this is the longest break that I have taken, but I will get back to work next year. I think I will direct the kind of films that people have seen me acting in."
Knowing the talent she has showcased in Mr. and Mrs. Iyer, 15 Park Avenue, Luck By Chance, Omkara, Page 3 and many others, we don't doubt that it will be something to watch out for.
