Kolkata to savour Spaghetti this winter!
Director Gaurav Pandey has pulled off a casting coup of sorts. This is for the first time that the father-son duo, Mithun and Mimoh Chakraborty, will feature together in a Hindi film titled Spaghetti 24/7. The shooting will begin in Kolkata from December 9.
Assisting Gaurav in direction is Mithun’s son, Rimoh, who had already done the same for Soham Shah’s Luck. Amruta Subhash, who had acted in Sandeep Sawant’s Marathi film, Shwas that was nominated for the Oscars in the foreign film category, has been paired opposite Mimoh in the film.

“I play a deaf girl here. The role is meaty enough and will give me a scope to perform. I was numb when I first saw Mithunda. It took me a minute to react while auditioning in front of him and Gauravda at Bappi Lahiri’s house. Once the auditions were over, Mithunda asked, ‘Who is this girl? She has done a commendable job’,” says Amruta excitedly.
Mimoh too is equally thrilled to act with his father for the first time. “I am happy that Baba could at last manage time for this film. And this time Rimoh too will be there with us in Kolkata, though his job is behind the camera,” Mimoh chuckles.
The director, who was keen on casting the father-son duo (they don’t carry real onto the reel) in his film, is happy that Mithun’s dates, which was a problem, could at last be adjusted. “Mithunda plays a darwan (gatekeeper). He is the sutradhar in the film. Mimoh plays a bartender. Amruta essays a deaf girl who meets Mimoh in a bus and what should have blossomed into love between them becomes a game of love and what follows is a long, intense negotiation,” informs Gaurav, adding, “I’m trying to rope in Padmini Kolhapure for an important role. Sachin Khedekar and Meghna Naidu are on board.” As Spaghetti is dished out in style, Kolkata readies to savour all the masala.
