Koena in a cat-suit?

With due apologies to Benazir Bhutto, the title seems to have been appropriated by Koena Mitra, courtesy Jharkhand chief minister Madhu Kode.
Ask Koena about praise the CM lavished while anointing her the brand ambassador for his state, and she turns a becoming pink.“Oh, that was sweet of him,” she says. But why is she, a Bengali, ‘ambassadoring’ Jharkhand? “I am partial to every place that is close to Bengal and I think it is such an honour to be doing this. Unlike other endorsements we stars are called for, this was non-commercial,” she explains.
That might be the reason, but Koena was a bigger draw than all the natural resources of Jharkhand put together at the do held in Delhi recently. A simpering smile later, Koena is discussing other things that are working for her right now. For one, she is going to be the first Indian superwoman. And no, it is not Krisshni that Roshans have signed her on for. In fact, she is doing a de facto Hollywood project, Karna, that she has been signed for opposite, believe it or faint, Orlando Bloom! “The project has been offered to him but nothing is decided as yet,” she says non-committaly.
Koena will be playing a gaon ki gori who transforms into a superwoman. And who is the Hollywood hottie whose super avatar she likes the most? “I am partial to Halle Berry’s Catwoman,” she says. But to fit in that itsy-bitsy cat-suit, she will have to be superfit too, no? “I have always been fit but these past few months, I have been training strenuously for this role,” Koena says.
The girl now knows martial arts, tai chi and is no longer afraid of heights. “Now, they are making sure I get my accent right, for which a teacher will be in Mumbai for six months,” she says. The guy who decided to mess with her on the New Year’s Eve couldn’t have got his target more wrong? “I know how to take care of myself. But unless the law is made more stringent, the situation will not change for women.” Or maybe, we will just ask the superwoman to have a look at this!
