Kiccha Sudeepa: It's beautiful to exchange ideas and collaborate within film industries

The actor opens up about the Bollywood-south film debate
A couple of months ago south actor Kiccha Sudeepa made headlines after he said Hindi isn't India's national language and also opened up about struggles of Bollywood movies (at Box Office). As he arrived to promote his upcoming film Vikrant Rona, the actor once again addressed the Bollywood-south film divide.

He said, "Bohot saare films bante hai ek saal mein, but not every film does great. There are only a couple of films that do well, while the rest don't. That doesn't mean we generalise and say it (south films) is dominating. If the Hindi film industry has not been doing great then how did it sustain for so many years? Like, if (cricketer) Virat Kohli is being out of form for a while and someone else is scoring better then would you say that he (the one doing well) is number one now? It doesn't work that way."

He further added, "If you look in the south there are a lot of films that are not working. If you look at Hollywood, there are 10 to 15 films that release every year here, but they have about 200 films releasing every year over all, so what happens to the rest 185? So, I don't think we should be generalising like that."

He further talked about working between film industries in tandem for a better future. He said, "Today we have a Jacqueline Fernandez working in this film, Salman sir is doing one of the prime roles in (a film being shot in) Hyderabad. If there was insecurity then why would we do that? It is a beautiful thing to exchange ideas and collaborate. Overall, we have a beautiful atmosphere there (within Bollywood and south industries), which from the third eye you are not able to see."

Salman, who's presenting the pan-Indian film too shared his piece of mind saying, "This (collaboration) has always been there. I have been working with a lot of South people. Be it with Kiccha Sudeep, Prakash Raj, Prabhu Deva and even Venky (Venkatesh) whose (Hindi) film Anari was a big hit that featured Karisma Kapoor. So, sometimes films work and sometimes they don't. There is no set formula ki 100 per cent yeh hi chalega."
