The crazy Parekh family is back once again to take the audience on a rollercoaster ride with their mad antics. The makers of Khichdi recently announced a sequel to their 2010 film Khichdi - The Movie, with a teaser which also had Farah Khan and she was sending the Parekh family on a mission. The sequel is called ‘Khichdi 2-Mission Paanthukistan.
Not many are aware that Khichdi first began as a stage play and then went to become one of India’s most loved sitcoms followed by a movie, a web series and it is now having a sequel.
The film brings back the old cast of Supriya Pathak Kapoor, Rajeev Mehta, Anang Desai, Vandana Pathak, Kirti Kulhari, and actor-producer Jamnadas Majethia (JD) and Farah Khan. The film is written and directed by Aatish Kapadia. Set against the backdrop of Diwali, the film weaves themes of unity, humanity, forgiveness, and the enduring power of family bonds.
The film is all set to release this Diwali where it will be clashing with Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s Tiger 3. It would be interesting to see how this one fares opposite the mammoth Tiger franchise, which has been a big money spinner for Yash Raj Films.
