Kay Kay Menon has been finalised to play the don with a comic touch in 'Hera Pheri 3'. Initially, producer Firoz Nadiadwala and writer-director Neeraj Vora were keen to cast Irrfan for the role. However, the actor's busy date diary couldn't accommodate the third installment of 'Hera Pheri' that toplines Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal.READ: Kay Kay Menon: I take my work seriously, not myself Interestingly, Irrfan had shot for an audio-visual, but eventually went missing from it when the film was launched at a star-studded event in a suburban five star hotel a couple of months ago.
Reportedly, the movie's makers attributed it to the character still being developed.
Now it turns out that due to his packed schedule, Irrfan couldn't commit to acting in
Hera Pheri 3 and opted out. After a lot of considerations, the makers decided to sign
Kay Kay Menon for the role. Apparently, Vora was impressed with the actor's performance in January's action thriller,
Baby. We hear that at the start, the don was supposed to be intense, aggressive and scary. But with Kay Kay stepping in, the writer-director has incorporated some comic touches to the otherwise serious character.
