Kartik Aaryan has kicked off the production of his upcoming movie, ‘Naagzilla’.Filmmakers shared some glimpses from the ceremony. Earlier the actor’s first look from the film was unveiled back in April, with the release planned for August 2026.

The video of the muhurat ceremony was shared by the makers, showing Kartik Aaryan, Karan Johar, and others performing puja before filming commenced. The caption said, “We’re not just rolling…we’re slithering into the world of #Naagzilla! Day 1 was filled with laughter, blessings, positivity and too much फ़न!” Fans expressed their excitement, with one commenting, “So excited” and another saying, “congratulations.”



Kartik Aaryan shares instagram update on shoot commencement
Kartik shared an update on Instagram this Saturday, posting a photo where he smiled brightly while holding a clapboard displaying the title ‘Naagzilla’ and the director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba's name. The presence of a haldi on the clapboard suggested the team performed a puja before filming began. In his caption, Kartik pointed out that the shoot’s first day for ‘Naagzilla’ coincides with the one-year anniversary of his hit film ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’, writing, “1 Year of #BhoolBhulaiyaa3 Day 1 of #Naagzilla Har Har Mahadev.”

In ‘Naagzilla’, Kartik is set to play the character Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand, an Ichadaari Naag. The first look of the actor from the film was released in April this year. At that time, Karan Johar posted the motion poster with the caption, “Insanon wali picharein toh bahut dekh li, ab dekho naagon wali pichchar! #NaagZilla – Naag lok ka pehla kaand… Funnn phailaane aa raha hai – Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand… Naag Panchami par aapke nazdeeki Sssssinemas mein – 14 August 2026 ko!".


Production details and cast insights

‘Naagzilla’ is being produced by Karan Johar, Mahaveer Jain, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, and Sujit Jain. While the plot remains largely under wraps, as per the report, Ravi Kishan is likely part of the cast, though this is yet to be officially announced. This project will mark Kartik’s second collaboration with Johar, following their work on ‘Tu Meri Main Tera Tu Meri’.
