Tragically, Sunjay passed away on Thursday during a polo match in England. He reportedly swallowed a bee mid-game, leading to a sting in his throat that caused anaphylactic shock. The severe allergic reaction triggered a fatal heart attack, and he collapsed on the field. Experts note that internal bee stings can cause sudden airway blockage and cardiac arrest.



Just hours before his death, he posted a condolence message on X (formerly Twitter), mourning the victims of the Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad. His sudden passing has sent shockwaves through British high society as well as India’s business and entertainment communities.



Sunjay was married to actress Karisma Kapoor from 2003 to 2016, and the couple had two children—Samaira and Kiaan. Their separation involved a series of legal disputes, with Karisma alleging domestic abuse and claiming that Kapur once chose to play polo with royalty while their son was unwell.
