Learning to play an instrument is said to be therapeutic and a fun experience. And 'Ujda Chaman' actress Karishma Sharma has taken to the ukulele for a special reason – she’s inspired by actor Ryan Gosling. He serenaded
Michelle Williams with it in the film ‘Blue Valentine’, which his fans loved. We hear Karishma too, loves the small, four-stringed, guitar-shaped instrument.
She says. “I saw and heard
Ryan Gosling on the ukulele and incidentally, I also heard the ukulele on a beach holiday and have been hooked onto it ever since. It's such a magical instrument and I just can't get enough of it. I recently also learned that
Kalki has taken to the ukulele as well. It's like a guitar, but with a Hawaiian feel.” Well, if music be the food of life, play on, we say! Perhaps she may upload a performance soon.
Karishma also has a few other hobbies. “Well, I love writing,” she discloses, adding, “In the lockdown as there was so much going on, I started to enjoy writing a lot and am doing a lot of that these days. I also love photography. If I see a beautiful object or a beautiful scene, I love to click that. There’s something about capturing a moment, a place. During the last few months there was nothing to do, so I also learnt to play chess and am still getting better at it.”
