Karishma Sharma gives health update; reveals why she 'jumped' from a moving train: ‘My friend is from Kolkata…’
Karishma Sharma, known for her roles in 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2' and 'Ragini MMS Returns,' recently faced a terrifying incident while travelling on a local train in Mumbai. On Wednesday, she sustained multiple injuries after she ‘jumped’ out of a moving train.
Karishma, who has now been discharged and is recovering at home, told Hindustan Times, “I have suffered multiple injuries, and I have a disturbing memory lapse. I have been experiencing physical pain, but for now I’m home. My mother has come to Mumbai to help me in my recovery.”
She also revealed that some of her injuries only became apparent later. She said that she had small water-filled bubbles around her ankles, which felt like water balloons, and her leg was burning. Her head felt very heavy, making it difficult to keep it straight, and keeping it down was causing additional pain in her neck.
She added that a lady constable and another woman rescued her and took her to a small clinic at the station, and she asked to be taken to a hospital in Andheri instead of a government hospital.
She expressed fear of travelling by train
Reflecting on the incident, Karishma shared how scared she feels now. "I don’t think I can go anywhere near a train station or travel by it anytime soon. The whole incident has traumatized me and left me scared for now. Such a happy memory has been tarnished for me.”Sharma continues to struggle with ongoing pain
Talking about her health, the 31-year-old said, “My head feels heavy. There’s still a lot of pain. The doctors discharged me, as my MRI didn’t show any internal injury, but they warned me to stay alert and cautious. If it hurts after a day or two, I’ll have to rush back to the hospital because it takes some time for the internal injuries to get detected.”She also revealed that some of her injuries only became apparent later. She said that she had small water-filled bubbles around her ankles, which felt like water balloons, and her leg was burning. Her head felt very heavy, making it difficult to keep it straight, and keeping it down was causing additional pain in her neck.
She faced memory loss and confusion after the accident
Karishma recalled losing her memory for nearly two hours, feeling disoriented and confused. “My hands were shivering. I wasn’t able to figure out what was happening. I still can’t pinpoint and tell what really made me do what I did.” The most frightening part, she says, is not remembering how she fell from the train. Why did she jump?
Clarifying that it was not deliberate, she explained, “My friend is from Kolkata, so she didn’t know about trains, and the hairdresser who was travelling with us is from Bombay. I didn’t realize that there was another train that we could’ve taken; I mean, I used to travel by train as a kid between Patna and Bombay, and travelling by trains always brings back happy memories, but I don’t know what triggered me; I just jumped, and I have zero memory of it.”She added that a lady constable and another woman rescued her and took her to a small clinic at the station, and she asked to be taken to a hospital in Andheri instead of a government hospital.
