Karan Johar says he is extremely 'proud' of Govinda Naam Mera, reveals that a new story always gets him excited

Karan Johar as a filmmaker has helmed projects across many genres, be it drama, romance or sci-fi. The 50-year-old however, has often spoken up about how his production company Dharma Productions is perceived to be making only one kind of movies, leading it to not receiving the right scripts from directors.
At the trailer launch of his forthcoming production Govinda Naam Mera, when quizzed about the same, the prolific filmmaker said that inspite of his banner churning out all sorts of movies, he is constantly questioned about bringing anything new to the market.

Elaborating further, Karan said that if he has directed "Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham", he has also directed "My Name is Khan", so as a director and producer, he is constantly trying to break the mould and enter new territory, provided the right script comes his way.
Speaking about Govinda Naam Mera starring Vicky Kaushal, Kiara Advani and Bhumi Pednekar, Karan said that he is extremely proud of the movie. Adding that he is always excited about a good story, the director-producer added that he is always up for experimentation across a wide genre of films.
Govinda Naam Mera, directed by Shashank Khaitan is a breezy comedy. The movie will release on Disney+ Hotstar on December 16.
