Sure, Kangna Ranaut is excited about playing an out-of-the-box character in Anand Rai’s Tanu Weds Manu, but she’s happier to have discovered a foodie in the director. Kangna loves eating and bonding over food with Anand has become her favourite pastime. The two had a great time shooting for the film in Punjab and Lucknow, both known for their respective cuisines.
Confessing that she has never eaten better food on the sets of a film, Kangna says, “We were one foodie unit.
While shooting at a restaurant in Jalandhar, Anand and I ordered for gulab jamuns. The two of us share the same passion for food. We both associate food with different emotions.
So he and I discussed how the gulab jamuns looked so innocent. I don’t think I have had better gulab jamuns than those.” Giving another instance, Kangna laughs, “One day the generators had stopped working. When I told Anand about them he said, ‘I have brought kulfis. Let’s have them before they melt.”
Obviously food is of primary concern. But at times Kangna can’t refrain from complaining about that, “See? Now you know why I put on weight.”
