Kanana Ranaut’s ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’, has made its mark at the box office and even earned its place as one of the highest grossing female-driven films in Bollywood. The actress-turned-director expressed her anger over the film industry’s silence, pertaining to the success of her film and its story about the great Rani of Jhansi.
Mini Mathur was the latest to get a earful when she sang praise of
Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt’s ‘Gully Boy’ but mocked a fan when questioned about her silence on ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’.
Commenting on her tweet in support of the film on Mumbai’s street rappers, the Twitter user said, "@minimathur ur thinking also so mini... u got time to watch #GullyBoy n not a single word for #manikarnikaqueenofjhansi... be equal to everyone don’t be bias."
Mini hit back saying, "Oh I apologise to you profusely as I haven’t seen that film yet. And as the official national film critic it is my humble duty to write on every film By the way, how was the experience of making the film?"
This exchange didn’t seem to go unnoticed by Rangoli, who slammed Mini for her choice of words, saying, "Its nt evry film @minimathur its d legnd f LaxmiBai, one f d bst period filmsevr made she’s no ordnry succes stry she’s d vry embodimnt of Bharat Mata if u faild 2 aprciatanodr womns effrts 2 bring dis gigantic conciousnes alive on big screen den dnt b coky bout it its nt funny (sic)."
