Kangana Ranaut joined Twitter in August 2020 and since then the actress has been speaking her mind on her micro-blogging site. The actress has often hit headlines for her controversial posts on Twitter, resulting in the social media platform eventually suspending her account on May 4, 2021. Kangana’s tweet terming protesting farmers as ‘terrorists’
Popular singer Rihanna had shared a news article about farmers’ protest in India and questioned, “Why aren’t we talking about this?!" Reacting to the tweet, Kangana had posted, “No one is talking about it because they are not farmers they are terrorists who are trying to divide India, so that China can take over our vulnerable broken nation and make it a Chinese colony much like USA... Sit down you fool, we are not selling our nation like you dummies." According to Times Now, an advocate named Harshvardhan Patil from Karnataka's Belagavi had filed a complaint against Kangana for her post and the Tumkuru court had directed the local Kyatasandra police station to book the actress for her tweet on farmers.
Kangana and Diljit Dosanjh’s war of words
In November 2020, Kangana had posted that Shaheen Bagh Dadi was also present at the farmer’s protests and was available for hire at Rs 100. Slamming her, Diljit Dosanjh had replied to Kangana’s misidentification post with a video of the elderly lady in question as proof, revealing that she was Mahinder Kaur. Kangana went on to delete her post, but not without replying to Diljit with a fiery tweet. In what can be termed as one of the biggest war of words on Twitter, Kangana and Diljit Dosanjh shot back at each other with their tweets. A Punjab-based lawyer also sent a legal notice to the actress for her tweet.
Kangana Ranaut’s tweets on ‘Tandav’
Earlier this year, the microblogging site had deleted Kangana's tweets slamming the web series ‘Tandav’. The actress had tweeted that it was ‘creatively poor and deprived, atrocious and objectionable’. She had also posted that the show’s content was Hindu phobic. Informing that her account was later restored Kangana had tweeted that 'librus' had cried to Jack Dorsey and got her account temporarily restricted.
Kangana Ranaut on Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise
Kangana had made several strong statements on Twitter after Sushant Singh Rajput’s sudden demise last year. In one of her tweets, Kangana had claimed that Sushant was being harassed and feared for his life. “Young and extraordinary individuals don’t just wake up one fine day and kill themselves. Sushant said he was being bullied and outcast, he feared for his life, he said movie mafia banned him and harassed him, he was mentally affected by being falsely accused of rape #AIIMS,” the actress had tweeted.
