Kangana Ranaut says she's like Jai Prakash Narayan: 'He was a rule-breaker'

Kangana Ranaut is gearing up for the release of her film 'Emergency' which is based on the 1975 Emergency imposed by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Kangana plays Indira Gandhi in the film. It was supposed to release on September 6, but faced issues in certification from the censor board. It was eventually passed with a 13 cuts and given a U/A certificate.

The actress was recently on 'Bigg Boss' to promote her movie and during the show, she revealed that she's very similar to Jai Prakash Narayan. She said, "A dictatorship like this once ruled our country, orchestrated by a very popular politician. Even when these rules were enforced, some courageous individuals chose to resist them—like JP Narayan ji, who protested against them. He was a rule-breaker, just like me. Now that I’m here in the Bigg Boss house, I’ll break some rules too.”

Interestingly, Anupam Kher plays JP Narayan in Kangana's 'Emergency'. Meanwhile, as Kangana said she will break some rules in the Bigg Boss house, she did make two major changes. Firstly, the actress announced that the Bigg Boss anthem played every morning will no longer be played. Instead of that, she introduced a jukebox with four song options, from which the housemates can pick a song they want to hear.

Another rule of the Bigg Boss house, which Kangana broke was that of not revealing outside information to the inmates. The actress told the contestants that the two trending women outside the house are Chum Darang and Eisha Singh, while amongst the male, Veer Mehra and Vivian Dsena were popular.

'Emergency' is set for release on January 17.
