Police, in connection to a case that was registered in the Bandra Metropolitan Magistrate. ANI had confirmed the same on Twitter, “Kangana Ranaut and Rangoli Chandel summoned by Police, asking them to appear before Bandra Police on 23-24 Nov over "objectionable comments on social media to spread communal tension between 2 groups."



In October, an FIR was registered at Bandra police against Kangana and Rangoli by casting director and fitness trainer

Munnawar Ali Sayyed

, wherein he stated that the sisters were trying to create hatred and communal tension between Hindus and Muslims through their tweets. Following this the Bandra Metropolitan Magistrate ordered the Mumbai Police investigate the case. The sisters were booked under sections 153A (promoting enmity between different groups), 295A (deliberate and malicious act to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting their religion) and 124A (sedition) of the Indian Penal Code.

Mumbai Police had previously summoned Kangana Ranaut and Rangoli Chandel to be present before it on November 10 in connection with a case filed. But Ranaut’s lawyer,

had replied stating that the sisters were in

Himachal Pradesh

, busy with the wedding preparations of their younger brother and had reportedly sought time till November 15 to appear before the authorities.
