Kalki Koechlin had a lot to say about the unrealistic standards of beauty that
Bollywood
obsesses over in a recent interview to a magazine.
Kalki Koechlin, who made her debut in the industry with Anurag Kashyap’s 'Dev D' and critically acclaimed films like 'Margarita with a Straw', 'Ribbon' and 'Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani' films to her credit, says she lays a lot of emphasis on personality. Citing the example of Audrey Hepburn, she said that the actress stood out from the rest of the beauties in Hollywood because of her interesting personality that went beyond her looks. She was always associated with some causes that were significant to the society - be it in relation to women, animal rights and for children's education.
On the contrary, Kalki feels that the
glamour industry
around the world chooses to lay obsess over 'Photoshopped' versions of beauty. She makes candid revelations like the fact that she was told ‘fix’ her teeth or restructure her jawline by some filmmakers in the industry. In fact, a producer even told her to fix her laughter lines with
Botox
for my laughter lines.
