Kaka's last ride
The last moments of actor Rajesh Khanna couldn't have been more reminiscent of his films. The actor who breathed his last at his Ashirwad residence in Mumbai yesterday spent his last moments with family, especially wife Dimple, who hardly left his side ever since the actor had been unwell since earlier this year.
According to friends of the family, Dimple Kapadia was with him, when he took his last breath.

The friend told us, "Kaka breathed his last in his bedroom. Very few close friends, which included Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Arbaaz Khan, Rishi Kapoor and Prem Chopra were allowed inside. Dimpleji was inconsolable and held on to Kaka's hand till he was removed from the bed after his death. She also was seen caressing Kaka's forehead, while tears rolled down the eyes of the duo's daughter, Twinkle Khanna Kumar.”
Rajesh Khanna's last rites were performed by grandson Aarav, but the innocence of the child left all those present at the cremation ground, in tears.
Aarav, who accompanied his dad Akshay Kumar was dazed at the huge crowd and the mob that stuck to his Nana's final journey. Aarav kept hugging his dad and sneezing, as the incense smoke and rain spread across the procession van. It was an emotional moment, when Kaka's body was kept on the wooden structure, waiting for the funeral pyre to set it on fire. Aarav was overheard saying in an innocent tone, "Why have they kept Nana here and why are all putting wooden logs on him?"
Insiders said that Aarav was scared and confused, but father Akshay Kumar, along with some senior family members accompanied the child, assisting him in carrying out the religious final rites of his grandpa.
"During the mukhagni, Akshay caught hold of Aarav's hand and took a parikrama and helped the timid Aarav in giving agni to the body of his Nana," added the source.
