Kajol's mother, veteran actress Tanuja hospitalised in Mumbai

Veteran actress Tanuja who is 80-year old and yet seemed quite fit in her recent appearances, has been suddenly admitted to a hospital today in Juhu. As per reports, Kajol and Tanisha Mukerjee's mother was admitted to a hospital in Juhu due to age-related issues. The actress was admitted on Sunday evening.

As per a report in PTI, she is admitted to the ICU and under observation and is doing well. Hence, there's nothing to worry about.

Not many are aware that Tanuja is veteran actress, Nutan's sister. Tanuja is born to Kumarsen Samarth and actress Shobhna Samarth. Shobhna was known as the OG Sita which she played in 'Bharat Milap. Her daughters Nutan and Tanuja went on to become really popular as actresses and have their own fan following. This legacy has continued Tanuja’s daughters Kajol and Tanisha Mukjerji both. Nutan’s son Mohnish Bahl is also a well-known actor and his daughter Pranutan has continued the legacy.

Tanuja started her career as a child-artist in sister Nutan's film 'Hamari Beti' in 1950, post that, she went on to be a successcul actress. Tanuja is known for her roles in films such as 'Baharein Phir Bhi Ayengi', 'Jewel Thief', 'Haathi Mere Saathi' and 'Mere Jeevan Sathi', 'Ghar Dwar', 'Jeene Ki Raah' among others. The actress also has a number of beautiful songs in her filmography.
