Kajol avoids media as she meets the distraught Malaika Arora after her father passes away

On Wednesday night, Kajol visited Malaika Arora's residence to share her condolences with her family after her father Anil Mehta passed away earlier on September 11.


In a video that has surfaced online, Kajol gestured to the paparazzi to back off as she made her way into the building. Kajol was one of the many Bollywood celebrities to visit Malaika. Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor, and Salim Khan were all spotted by paparazzi earlier in the day.


One of the first Bollywood celebrities to visit Malaika's parents after her father passed away was her ex-husband Arbaaz Khan. When the investigation was underway, the actor was spotted waiting with the police officers beneath her parents' building.


The family has not yet released a statement, but according to a police source, Malaika's mother Joyce Arora has spoken with the police and recorded her statement of what happened that morning.



In her police statement, Malaika's mother Joyce allegedly stated that Anil Mehta would regularly sit on the balcony and read the newspapers first thing in the morning. Although they were divorced, she informed the authorities that they had been living together once more for the last few years. She informed the police that she went to search for her ex-husband on the balcony on Wednesday morning after spotting his slippers in the living room.


She bent down and looked below when she was unable to locate him there. The building watchman was calling out for assistance. Additionally, Joyce informed the authorities that Anil Mehta was well. It was only minor knee soreness.


Although reports suggest Anil died by apparent suicide, a final police report is still awaited.
