Kajal A Kitchlu shares her experiences shooting for Uma in Kolkata

After playing interesting roles in films like Singham and Special 26, Kajal A Kitchlu, is all set to play a protagonist in her next Bollywood venture, Uma. For the film, the actress travelled to Kolkata as they shot majority of the film there.
Sharing her experience shooting for a film in a new state that she got to explore, Kajal says, “It was the second time I went there.But this was the first time that I spent so much time in Kolkata. It was a wonderful experience. I loved the city and its culture. I just loved the vibe of the place. The food was phenomenal. I could experience all of it. It was a very different experience all together. Otherwise, having worked down South, I have become super comfortable here. It is home for me now, in fact more than Mumbai (where she was raised). I have spent my entire adult life between Hyderabad and Chennai.”

The actress shot for the film directed by Tathagata Singha in the month of July. It was the time period of second wave in India. Talking about the experience, Kajal adds, “We were being supremely careful. We were periodically testing the team members on sets every couple of days. There was someone on set who was monitoring the entire unit. He was in charge of checking temperatures, making sure everyone was wearing their masks and see that people are maintaining the basic COVID protocols and following hygiene.”
She further added, “We were using private transport as we didn’t want to risk it travelling in a bunch. We were being extra cautious and were lucky that all went well through the shooting of the film.”
