5 reasons why you must watch 'Junglee'

The first official trailer of Junglee Pictures' family actioner 'Junglee', starring Vidyut Jammwal proved to be every bit worth the wait. Packed with emotion, action and a touch of romance, this Chuck Russell directorial promises to be a treat for the entire family. Produced by Vineet Jain and co-produced by Priti Shahani, the film that also stars Pooja Sawant, Asha Bhat, Atul Kulkarni and Makarand Deshpande, is set to release in theatres on 5th April 2019. While the film is brimming with attractions, here's looking at 5 reasons why you must watch 'Junglee'.

2/6

Vidyut Jammwal returns as the ultimate action hero

After making a name for himself with action films like 'Commando', Vidyut Jammwal returns as the ultimate action star with 'Junglee'. Directed by Hollywood filmmaker Chuck Russell, the film is all set to uplift the standard of action films in Bollywood with some never-seen-before daredevilry mastered by the leading man, who also happens to be among the top 6 global martial artists.

Legendary Hollywood director Chuck Russell at the helm

The director, credited for global blockbusters such as 'The Mask', 'The Scorpion King' and 'Eraser', is making his debut in Hindi cinema this week with the family-adventure film featuring Vidyut Jammwal. Chuck is often credited with lending a Midas touch to careers of stars like Dwayne Johnson, Jim Carrey, Cameron Diaz with his films.

In an interview, the director said that he has been interested in global cinema for a long time. Chuck said that he has been to India before because he has been looking to do pictures that are co-productions and use some of the wonderful talent from Bollywood. Chuck was also excited with the possibility of working with real elephants instead of CGI (Computer Generated Imagery).

Look out for debutantes Pooja Sawant and Asha Bhat

'Junglee' also marks the Bollywood debut of Pooja Sawant and Asha Bhat. Pooja is a big name in Marathi cinema, having worked in films like 'Poshter Boyz', 'Daagdi Chaawl' and 'Satrangi Re'. She hopes to get the same love and appreciation from B-town. Pooja's character is modelled on the only female mahout in India and the actress who also happens to be an animal lover, there can be no better beginning in showbiz. Asha, on the other hand, is Miss Supranational 2014 and also an engineer by qualification. She will be playing an ambitious journalist, fearless when it comes to chasing after her goals. The production offers some never-seen-before stunts with not just Vidyut, but both the ladies as well.

5/6

The unique story of friendship between Raj and Bhola

The trailer gave us beautiful glimpses at the unique bond forged between a little boy, Raj and an elephant named Bhola as they grow up together amidst the paddy fields and lush green surroundings that leave you mesmerised. The film later moves on to the uncovering of a poaching racket thriving within the jungles, and a target now set on Bhola. It is at this time that Vidyut’s character heeds his calling and becomes the protector of the jungle and all the animals living within it. You can only sit and watch in amazement as this one-man-army goes on a rampage to save his dear friend from a lurking threat that presumably has its claws deep-rooted within the system.

6/6

Breathtaking action sequences

The highly appreciated trailer of the film gave us a peek at the impressive stunts Vidyut mastered for the film, including the ancient art of Kalaripayattu and the animal flow technique. Incorporating his well-honed skills into the film’s narrative, get ready to see the star take on poachers in an engaging bike chase sequence, battle it out with cops while handcuffed to the table, shooting with the deadly Kalaripayattu weapon – Urumi, and much more
