JP Dutta’s 'Paltan', which features an ensemble cast comprising Arjun Rampal, Sonu Sood, Pulkit Samrat, Suniel Shetty, Sonal Chauhan, Gurmeet Choudhary, Siddhanth Kapoor and Jackie Shroff among others, has finally got a release date. The film, which is said to be the third instalment in Dutta’s war film trilogy after ‘Border’ (1997) and ‘LOC Kargil’ (2003), will hit the screens on September 7.

It marks Dutta’s directorial comeback after 12 years, his last film being ‘Umrao Jaan’ (2006).
According to reports, the makers of the film have a complete promotional plan in place. While they will release the teaser digitally around July 15, there will be a grand trailer launch around July 30. Before the film release, the team will have almost 40 days in hand for all their promotions activities.
The film is reportedly based on the Nathu La military clashes of 1967 that took place along the Sikkim border. The story revolves around the Indian forces, who have an intense battle to ward off a Chinese infiltration. According to reports, the Dutta not only roped in real-life soldiers to be a part of the film, but also collaborated with the Indian Army, who trained the actors for their roles.
