Joy Mukherjee's son, Sujoy Mukherjee has found his true calling in filmmaking

Sujoy Mukherjee, actor and filmmaker and son of yesteryears' star Joy Mukherjee, says he has found his true calling as a filmmaker along with C H Muhammed.
Sujoy, whose short film in 2019, Ab Mujhe Udnaa Hai was widely acclaimed, says, "I want to make films that portrait realistic characters that draw inspiration from real life, and ideals that have specific traits of being motivating for humanity and that connect people with each other. I would consider telling it using plots, genres, themes, cinematography etc and not just the character alone. But, this can only happen with a powerful storyline where a filmmaker's voice shines through the narrative, using imagination but keeping the entertainment value at the same time. I'm blessed that my short film did good and now I'm looking forward to making a feature film very soon."
The actor, whose father Joy Mukherjee went on to be a leading hero of Hindi films, also confesses that while he has turned into a filmmaker, it does not mean that he has plans to quit acting. "I'm enjoying making films, but it doesn't mean that I have quit acting," says Sujoy who has acted in films like Mehboob Mere Mehboob, Hum Hain Kamal Ke and Pyar Pyar. He adds, "I'm not someone who likes to or believes in limiting myself. I'm always keen on portraying challenging and promising roles."
