Johnny Lever reveals he visits Junior Mehmood everyday to get an update about him; says 'He has been the inspiration behind my career' - Exclusive
Junior Mehmood, originally known as Naeem Sayyed, is being treated for stage four stomach cancer. His old friends and colleagues from the industry have been paying him a visit to check on his health.
Johnny Lever regularly visits the home of his ailing friend, Junior Mehmood, and is often seen praying for him. When asked about their relationship, Johnny Lever stated, "He is my best friend, like a brother, and we share a family connection. That's why I visit every day to get updates about him."
When inquired about Junior Mehmood's current condition, Johnny Lever replied, "It's not good, and now it's in God's hands. We need to pray for him."
Junior Mehmood has been Johnny Lever's inspiration since childhood, having witnessed him perform in their Kings Circle neighborhood. Johnny Lever fondly expressed, "He has been the inspiration behind my career. When I was nine years old, I saw him perform in my area. He was very young and used to entertain. When I first saw him, I thought, 'What a performer!' The way he danced inspired me to try the same. He is my inspiration. Gradually, I started dancing, then became a mimicry artist, and over time, we became friends and now consider each other family."
Earlier, after Jr Mehmood expressed his desire to meet his old friends Jeetendra and Sachin Pilgaonkar, the ace actors made it a point to visit him and spend quality time with their ailing friend. Sachin even offered help to Jr Mehmood. However, he was politely declined stating that his children are taking care of him and they want people to just pray for him.
Junior Mehmood began his career as a child artist in films and later ventured into directing Marathi films. Notably, he formed a successful duo with Sachin Pilgaonkar as child artists, creating lasting memories in their partnership. This collaboration continued into their adult years, where they worked together in films such as 'Bachpan,' 'Geet Gaata Chal,' and 'Brahmachari.' The enduring professional relationship between Junior Mehmood and Sachin Pilgaonkar spans both their childhood and adulthood, leaving an indelible mark on the film industry.

Great deed. In the same context, the successful film stars, should have some sort of funds for junior artists & other film personalities, as many are out on the streets. Money is there & something can be done. After all its a team effort that makes a film successful.Read allPost comment
