John Abraham opens up on how his marriage to Priya Runchal stayed scandal-free: 'I never went to parties even before...'

John Abraham has always kept his personal life away from the spotlight. John recently opened up about the conscious choices behind maintaining privacy in his marriage and how their shared values have helped keep their bond strong and grounded.

Keeping personal life separate from films

John recently told India Today that he has always kept his personal life separate from his film career. Without any agents or publicists creating stories for him, he said once his movies are done, he stays away from the limelight and focuses on his private life. He also mentioned that he speaks only when necessary, maintaining a low profile outside work.



The actor further explained that keeping his personal life private is a deliberate choice since his films are unrelated to it. He has never had a publicist or agent creating stories for him, so once his movies are done, he stays out of the news and only speaks up when he has something important to share.



She shared that during breaks between films, he focuses on his personal life, spending much of his time at his football academy in Shillong and working on scripts. His wife, Priya, also leads a private life, complementing his low-profile lifestyle.

Avoiding parties and embracing discipline

John also revealed that even before marriage, he avoided parties because he disliked loud music and alcohol. He mentioned having personal issues with alcohol due to his father's fondness for single malt whiskey. John also follows a disciplined routine, going to bed early and waking up between 4 and 4:30 am to read, mostly focusing on world news.



In June 2024, John and Priya joyfully commemorated a decade of marriage. To honor the milestone, John shared heartfelt photos expressing his love and best wishes for Priya. In a candid Pinkvilla interview, he admitted to being imperfect as a spouse and praised Priya for bringing balance, wisdom, and calmness into their relationship. He also mentioned that Priya prefers to keep a low profile, dedicating herself to meaningful work away from the public eye.
