JD Majethia reveals what happened when he reached Shah Rukh Khan’s Mannat unannounced: 'I thought he might look outside and notice us...'

JD Majethia still remembers the day he landed outside Shah Rukh Khan’s Mannat without notice, hoping to catch the superstar’s attention. What could have been an awkward moment instead turned into a warm memory—one that, for Majethia, sums up the kindness and support he has always received from both Shah Rukh and his longtime friend Farah Khan.

Speaking with Hindi Rush, Majethia described SRK as a very nice person and recalled an incident when he and his team showed up at the actor’s house without informing him. He admitted it was a mistake driven by excitement. Instead of taking offence, SRK supported them wholeheartedly and even promoted Khichdi: The Movie. Majethia said he would always be thankful to the superstar, calling him a true gentleman.




Majethia fondly spoke about his bond with Farah Khan, a friendship that goes back to their college days. For him, she has always been more than just a celebrated filmmaker—someone who stays grounded despite her success. He admires how she stands by her friends, makes time for them, and never hesitates to lend support when asked. Her presence, he said, brings an energy that uplifts everyone around her, which is why he was especially happy to have her appear in Khichdi 2: Mission Paanthukistan (2023).

Majethia also shared a lighthearted memory about Farah Khan. Before she became a popular YouTuber with her vlogs featuring her cook Dilip, she would often laugh about how people recognised her more for her brief appearance in Khichdi 2 than for many of her other projects. He said Farah was genuinely delighted by this and happily came on board to shoot the cameo, offering her full support to the team.

Majethia praised Farah for the way she uses her platform to uplift others, especially her cook Dilip, who has now become a YouTube star alongside her. He noted that Farah treats him with immense respect, often putting him at the centre of her content rather than herself. That warmth, he explained, is what made audiences connect with Dilip. By giving him visibility and dignity, Farah not only highlighted his charm but also set an example for how celebrities can use their influence to empower those around them.



Majethia went on to say that Farah has an innate sense of entertainment, having grown up around films and directed some of Bollywood’s biggest hits. He added that Dilip isn’t just funny but also incredibly efficient, which makes the pairing all the more endearing. Majethia fondly recalled the time the Khichdi team joined Farah and Dilip for a special vlog on her channel, which turned into a memorable celebration of laughter and friendship.
