Jayaram. (TOI Photo)One hour before the pooja of veteran producer KRG's new film Guru En Aalu, one of its heroes Jayaram walked out of the film. At the last minute, Jayarams ego got the better of him, and he refused to play second fiddle to actor Madhavan. The producer immediately roped in actor Abbas, who sportingly agreed to be the last minute replacement.
Remember Maddy- Abbas are a great combo and the duo rocked in Gautham Menon's debut film Minnale, a few years ago. Meanwhile, life has not been a bed of roses for Jayaram, who has been totally wiped off Malayalam cinema.
Three of his films- SeethaKalyanam, Winter and Magic Lamp have been lying in the cold storage for the last few years. Last week his latest film Paarthen Kanda Paralokam, could not be released as our Ilayathalapathy Vijay's Kuruvi took over a record 65 screens in Kerala! Jayaram is very good in comedies and one reason for the actors popularity in Chennai is his ability to make people laugh. The actors roles in the movies Tenali and Panchatantiram were widely appreciated. In both movies, Jayaram played second fiddle to actor Kamal Haasan. If Jayaram buries his ego, and agrees to play supporting roles, then there are plenty of roles waiting for him in Kollywood.
