Shah Rukh Khan-starrer ‘Jawan’ finally released in theatres on September 7 after a month-long buzz, and it has totally lived up to all the hype. Apparently, the film has beaten the superstar’s own record of highest opening day collections held by his previous film ‘Pathaan’. ‘Jawan’ has scripted history at the box-office by earning an estimated Rs 75 crore on the first day itself. Yes, you read that right! According to reports in an entertainment portal, the Hindi version of the SRK-starrer has collected Rs 65 crore whereas the remaining Rs 10 crore have come from the Tamil and Telugu versions. With ‘Jawan’, Shah Rukh has delivered India’s biggest opening for a Hindi film, beating his own film ‘Pathaan’ which had earned Rs 57 crore on Day 1. Undoubtedly, the collections are only expected to skyrocket further over the weekend as trade experts have predicted the film will be earning around Rs 250-300 crore in its first week itself, which is unheard of for a Hindi film. The Atlee-directorial had already sold 5.57 lakh tickets in advance booking and the numbers are going to be massive in the days to come. Notably, ‘Jawan’ has received an unprecedented response in Gujarat and West Bengal circuits where the film has reportedly edged past ‘Pathaan’s numbers. On the day of the film’s release, SRK took to X and wrote ‘Wow have to take time out and thank each and every Fan Club and all of you who have gone so happily in the theatres and even outside. So overwhelmed will surely do the needful as soon as I get my breath back in a day or so. Uff!! Love u for loving #Jawan’.For more news and updates, stay tuned to ETimes.

Meet The Sheshnaag-150: India’s Answer To Cheap One Way Attack Drones

As American and Israeli strikes hammered Iran with Operation Epic Fury, US Central Command made a quiet but historic announcement: for the first time in history, the United States had deployed one-way attack drones in combat. The weapon was LUCAS the Low-cost Unmanned Combat Attack System and it is, by American admission, a reverse-engineered copy of Iran's own Shahed-136 loitering munition. The same class of drone Iran is currently using to strike Israeli cities and American bases across the Middle East. Five thousand kilometres east of the Persian Gulf, India is building its own answer. Bengaluru-based NewSpace Research and Technologies has developed the Sheshnaag-150, a 150-kilogram long-range collaborative attack drone named after the mythological serpent king, designed from the ground up for swarm warfare. With a range exceeding 1,000 kilometres, an endurance of over five hours, and a warhead of 25 to 40 kilograms, the Sheshnaag sits in the same conceptual category as the Shahed and LUCAS but with swarm coordination and mission versatility that arguably exceed both. Iran discovered that cheap, numerous and expendable weapons could defeat expensive and irreplaceable ones. Russia deployed that discovery at industrial scale in Ukraine. America, with LUCAS, has now joined the party. And India watching every Shahed barrage, watching LUCAS make its debut is building its answer on a test range outside Bengaluru.
