'Jawan' movie review and box office collection LIVE Updates: Shah Rukh Khan and Atlee react to Mahesh Babu’s review of Jawan
The wait is finally over as the most-awaited film of the year, 'Jawan' has hit the theatres today. Fans of the superstar shared videos from as early as 5AM in the morning as they queued up outside the iconic Gaiety Galaxy theatre in Mumbai for the 6AM show. After delivering first biggest hit of the year in January with 'Pathaan', Shah Rukh Khan is all set to break his own record in terms of advance booking and box office collection with 'Jawan'. The film has, in fact, made a staggering release on 5000 theatres in Hindi across the country. This is the first time he has collaborated with South director Atlee for the film and it also stars South's lady superstar Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi in lead roles. The makers have also roped in Deepika Padukone, Sanjay Dutt and Thalapathy Vijay for special cameos in the movie. Apart from them, the film also features Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Ridhi Dogra and others in key roles. The audience reactions and reviews are pouring in from all sides. Jawan mints Rs 150 crore at the worldwide box office
According to trade buzz, Jawan minted a whopping Rs 75 crore in India and at the worldwide box office, the film has collected more than Rs 150 crore. Jawan is now the biggest opener of Bollywood of all time. The film reportedly saw an overall occupancy of 58.67 per cent in the Hindi belt and Chennai witnessed 81 per cent. Trade analyst Ramesh Bala mentioned on X (formerly known as Twitter) that Jawan is looking at Rs 150 crore plus Day 1 opening worldwide.

ETimes had reported that Jawan had sold over 33,000 tickets in the USA thus surpassing the $500,000 mark on its opening day. According to the latest reports, thanks to the hype around the film, Jawan has not only got more locations, but its shows have also increased, thus setting it up for a huge opening day collection. The film collected $628,729 from just around 570 locations. With an addition of 2248 shows, this entertainer has now on course for a record-breaking opening for a Hindi film in the US market.

The global advance booking for Jawan clocked a massive Rs 45 crore, as per Sacnilk. The Shah Rukh Khan starrer has now become only the second Bollywood film to surpass the one-million mark in advance ticket sales. Pathaan was the first, selling an estimated 1.08 million tickets on its opening day. As per reports, Jawan had already shot past the 1.1 million mark with over 20 hours till the release. Atlee, who had previously worked with Vijay for 'Theri', Mersal, and 'Bigil', is reportedly said to be making another film with him, but after a year. According to reports, Atlee has now planned to take a break for 4 months from his work to spend time with his family. Atlee was recently blessed with a baby boy, and as the director was busy shooting for 'Jawan', he was not able to spend ample time with his wife Priya and son Meer. The director has now reportedly decided to stay at home for the rest of the year and will start work on his next script in January 2024. It is suspected that he will sign with Vijay for the actor's 69th film. However, it is still uncertain, as Vijay is said to have entered politics.
