The wait is finally over as the most-awaited film of the year, 'Jawan' has hit the theatres today. Fans of the superstar shared videos from as early as 5AM in the morning as they queued up outside the iconic Gaiety Galaxy theatre in Mumbai for the 6AM show. After delivering first biggest hit of the year in January with 'Pathaan', Shah Rukh Khan is all set to break his own record in terms of advance booking and box office collection with 'Jawan'. The film has, in fact, made a staggering release on 5000 theatres in Hindi across the country. This is the first time he has collaborated with South director Atlee for the film and it also stars South's lady superstar Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi in lead roles. The makers have also roped in Deepika Padukone, Sanjay Dutt and Thalapathy Vijay for special cameos in the movie. Apart from them, the film also features Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Ridhi Dogra and others in key roles. The audience reactions and reviews are pouring in from all sides. Casting director Mukesh Chhabra revealed that the casting process for Jawan took him more than a year. He told ETimes, "The entire process of casting was very interesting because when you do a big commercial film you have to keep a lot of things in mind. We had to mix the new faces with some little known faces so that the girl gang has power. That's why we have cast Sanya Malhotra, Sanjeeta Mukherjee, Girija Oak Godbole, Lehar Khan and Alia Qureshi because their auditions were so good and their faces are different. Every girl needed to look different. That was the whole idea. That's why the process of balancing the casting took one year.”

Trade analysts predict record-breaking numbers for Jawan in Bengal
Satadeep Saha, the owner of Ajanta Cinema, expressed his astonishment, stating that this is the first time in their cinema hall's history that they are opening as early as 6:40 am. Saha firmly believes that 'Jawan' will break records and achieve the highest-ever single-day collection across all languages in Bengal, surpassing even SRK's previous film, 'Pathaan.' Trade analysts are predicting an impressive opening day collection in Bengal, ranging from Rs 3.5 to Rs 4 crore.

Film analyst and author Dilip Thakur drew a connection between the Atlee directorial and Raj Kapoor's 'Shree 420'. He said, "Jawan is releasing in the same week as Shree 420. That film was about showcasing the life of the labour class. The film created a solid craze in Russia. In the Ramaiya Vastavaiya song, actress Sadhana worked as a child artist. The influence of Charlie Chaplin on Raj Kapoor is clearly visible in the film."Elaborating further, he added, "His ideological inclination towards Russia is evident in his character in the film. These were the key features of Shree 420. The class differences are still relevant and the dialogues from Shree 420 are still relevant today. You can imagine how far ahead was KA Abbas of his times. The film is 68 years old but socially not much has changed."

The box office numbers in the US for Jawan have shown huge growth. ETimes had reported that yesterday the film had sold about 33000 tickets and had collected $503337 (Rs 4,10,00000) for the opening day, and the number has jumped majorly. The film, which is barely few hours away from its release in America, has collected $628729 (Rs 5, 226, 3978) from 570 locations and it now has 2248 shows on the opening day. Jawan has sold 41582 tickets till now; a jump of more than 8500 tickets in one day.

Anil said that both the films are extravagant and public wants to see them both. The filmmaker also added that 65 per cent of Gadar 2 revenue has come from single screens and now Jawan is going to do the same.
