On the recent
burqa
controversy,
Javed Akhtar had reportedly said that he has no issues if it is a matter of security. However, some people have taken Javed in wrong sense.
"Covering face may be a problem when it comes to security. If burqa is banned then, ghunghat too should be taken into account. What is the need of burqa or ghunghat?" Akhtar reportedly asked.
But as certain people are taking Akhtar's statement in a bad taste, the poet and the writer took to his twitter handle and shared a new post which cleared what he exactly wanted to say. He wrote, "Some people are trying to distort my statement . I have said that may be in

According to his tweet, it is clear that Javed Akhtar's statements were always pro towards women empowerment and thus he stresses on banning of 'burqa' or 'ghoonghat'.
