Javed Akhtar recently bought an apartment in Mumbai's Juhu neighborhood for ₹7.76 crore. The 111.43 square meter property was ready to move in, according to documents accessed by SquareYards.com. The purchase was completed on July 2, with a stamp duty of ₹46.02 lakh and a registration fee of ₹30,000.

The apartment is located in the Sagar Samrat Building, a prominent area in Mumbai's Juhu neighborhood. Known for its scenic beach ideal for leisurely walks and breathtaking sunsets, Juhu boasts numerous luxury residences and celebrity homes.

In 2021, an adjoining apartment spanning 113.20 square meters was purchased by Javed Akhtar for ₹7 crore, according to SquareYards.com. Interestingly, he currently resides in this cooperative housing society, occupying an apartment on a different floor from these two properties.

Javed Akhtar gained widespread acclaim in the 1970s as a screenwriter, famously collaborating with Salim Khan under the banner Salim-Javed in the credits of several iconic films like 'Sholay', 'Deewar', and 'Zanjeer', which have become classics of Indian cinema. After parting ways with Salim, he went on to script notable films such as 'Betaab', 'Saagar', 'Main Azaad Hoon', 'Lakshya', and 'Don: The Chase Begins'. Throughout his career, Akhtar has garnered numerous awards for his contributions to Indian cinema. He is married to actress Shabana Azmi, and together they are celebrated as one of the power couples in Bollywood.

Javed's recent contributions as a lyricist include credits in films like 'The Archies', 'Dunki', and 'Kho Gaye Hum Kahan'.
