Jason Tham to get engaged to girlfriend Deeksha on August 22

', which features him as a don, will hit the theatres, on the other, Jason is set to get engaged to girlfriend, actress Deeksha Kanwal Sonalkar. The low-key ceremony will be held on August 22, at Deeksha’s place. Says Jason, “The ceremony will be attended by our families and there will be a separate celebration for our friends later. We will also perform a Maharashtrian puja. With my film releasing around the same time, it will be a double celebration for both of us.”

'and have been dating for the last two-and-a-half years. Jason adds, “We started off as friends and gradually fell for each other. We bond over several things, including our love for acting and our passion for dance. I am a hip-hop dancer, while Deeksha is a trained Odissi dancer. Food is another thing that connects us. While we have common dreams and aspirations, Deeksha and I are different in many ways. I guess the idea of ‘opposites attract each other’ worked for us.”

While Jason is an actor of Chinese origin, Deeksha is a Maharashtrian. So we asked the actor if there were any issues between the families, owing to the difference in religion and cultures, and he says, “Yes, there is a huge difference between our cultures, but I am more Indian than most people here.”
